Cats and Other Animals Abroad

Rick and I are always on the lookout for cats when we travel.
We encountered this big boy striding along a street in Barcelona.

He is a sculpture created by the artist Botero.

Rick spotted a distant cousin of our Rufus the Red in the Alhambra.

And here’s a lovely calico.
Believe it or not, our favorite animal siting wasn’t a cat!

At the Rock of Gibraltar, we saw the Barbary macaques.
This little guy snuck into the gift shop and ran off with a stuffed monkey.

The monkeys are all over and are famous for jumping on tourists if they see food or shiny objects.

We feel fortunate to be able to travel, and grateful to return home to our cats and our regular lives.

  4. WoW!
Thank you for sharing these! Your photos are consistently such high quality, in all situations that I forget you are not a professional photographer! Love the expressions and the subtleness that you capture! OK that BIG kitty is not so subtle, but that monkey gazing at his new found baby is priceless!

  5. That looks like such a wonderful trip to be on. You don’t realize how big that sculpture is until you see the second photo. The monkey is very cute with there new stuff animal friend. Thanks for sharing the wonderful photos. Have a wonderful day.
