This is Peek-A-Boo who ended up at the shelter because her person was too ill to care for her. She’s a lovely 13 year old calico getting lots of love and affection from staff and volunteers at PAWS.
At the other end of the age spectrum…
Introducing the latest bottle baby being gently nurtured by PAWS Cat Co-ordinator Ellen!
RECYCLING
Often the amount of money we spend on cat toys is inversely proportional to enjoyment our cats take in the toy. Hence the ever popular cardboard box!
I decided to repurpose my worn out socks by cutting off the foot, sewing up the end to form a little bag, stuffing it with batting and catnip, and sewing closed the opening. Here is our Rufus the Red testing my recycled catnip socks.
Rufus: “These are all mine, right?”
Buddy at PAWS likes it!
Such sweet faces! We sure hope sweet Pee-Boo picks a purfect forever home soon, and oh that itty bitty is so cute!
Oh Peek a boo, you are so pretty and we are so sorry your owner couldn’t take care of you any more. We sure send good wishes that you find a super home soon. That little kitten is just way too cute. We know that one will find a home really soon. Those sock toys look so great. Any little silly thing entertains all these here. You all have a great day.
Clever idea with the socks.. the ankle part is almost always in good shape when the toes or heal wear out..
Peek-A-Boo is beautiful and Ellen is a cutie! Looks like Rufus is going to be a sock nip hoarder?
Peek-a-Boo is such a sweet gal. A little overwhelmed about being at the shelter, but she’s super nice, and making good progress. That bottle baby is adorable. We were remarking the other day how big her eyes are — you captured them perfectly. 🙂
Love the catnip sock idea. So nice of Rufus to give some up so that our pal Buddy could partake, too!
Hugs!
Aw, they’re both adorable! And what a great way to use old socks. The mom may have to try that DIY project.
How precious each one is. They’re such amazing creatures! I’ve done a sock catnip toy … and after I got lazy sewing so many on two sides, I just knotted the part above the ankle off to keep the Nip inside (and I suppose when the nip loses potency, you could untie … wash the sock … and then reuse with fresh nip) 🙂
Your new friends are adorable! Peek-A-Boo has such beautiful eyes. I’m sorry her person is too ill to take care of her. I hope she finds a new home soon, and hope the person gets better.
I love the idea of upcycling the socks! They make such pretty and fun toys 🙂
What lovely cats – we hope they will soon be in their forever homes.
What a wonderful group!
oh what sweet babies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Both of these girls are exquisite. We love torties and calicos. Mom is getting ready to sponsor two new PAWS kitties (Pumpkin and Phoebe she hopes) as our delightful sponsored-kitty, Swizzle, finally has her happily ever after. Sending love to all the PAWS kitties, staff and volunteers. XOCK, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo
Beautiful kitties. I hope they get forever homes soon.
What a wonderful idea with the socks. TW actually filled one of her old socks with nip but I didn’t give it a second look. She’s not getting off that easy. I hope Peek-a-Boo gets a new home ASAP.
Nice to catch up with you, the kitties and the socks on Thankful Thursday! We think the toys are good fun!!
Gorgeous kitties as usual, but also, awesome socks!!
